St Laurence Church Junior School is a 3-form entry junior school located in Northfield, Birmingham. As a diocesan church school, our core Christian values are at the heart of everything that we do and our vision statement of ‘Learning, Loving and Sharing, guided by Jesus’ underpins all that we do at the school. We are an OFSTED rated ‘good’ school and are looking for a School Business Manager who is ready to support the school in order to provide the best opportunities moving forward for our children and their families.
In return we will offer training where necessary to the right candidate in order to further develop their skills and knowledge. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and innovative School Business Manager to join our supportive team. We would welcome the opportunity for the successful candidate to complete a handover period with the retiring incumbent so they are given the best possible start in the role.
The successful candidate will:
• Currently hold the role of School Business Manager or a role in which they can demonstrate the skills needed for the role.
• Will hold the Certificate in School Business Management (CSBM) and/or (DSBM) or be willing to study for this and have a financial background.
• Be responsible for all aspects of the school’s business to include: Finance and budgeting, Facilities & ICT Infrastructure, Health & Safety, Risk management, Asset management, GDPR and HR and line management of Support Staff.
• Work in partnership with senior leaders and report to, and advise, the Governing Board.
• Have exceptional communication and organisational skills.
• Have knowledge of similar school-based packages such as SIMS, FMS, iPay, Oracle, The School App.
• Be proactive in accessing update training, reading, policy etc.
• Be friendly, flexible, professional and hardworking.
