Are you an individual who believes that every young person can be successful; someone who is unwilling to put limits on what young people can achieve?

You might wish to begin a career in education; you might be returning to work following a career break; or you may be keen to continue to develop within our dynamic field, in a research-led school that will support your professional development. Our post will suit an individual who has a desire to promote high expectations and aspirations for young people.  We wish to appoint someone who is able to promote academic excellence as well as social success; someone who can relate to young people, and motivate and inspire them.

We are looking for someone who has the ability to think on their feet and is resourceful; is happy with change and a ‘can do’ attitude; has patience, positivity and the determination to succeed.

Wheatley Park School is at an exciting stage in its development.  We have enjoyed recent successes and we are ambitious to build on them.  We are a busy, friendly and supportive community. We are proud of our students and keen to keep helping them to achieve high standards. Your role will be to play an important part in helping some of our students overcome the barriers they face with their learning.

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our busy and motivated team to support the progress of young people with Special Educational Needs (primarily SEMH), children identified as Looked After and also those for whom we receive Pupil Premium Grant.   Some experience of working with young people would be beneficial and you must have a good standard of education.

What we offer you:

  • The chance to be part of a strong school community, making a difference to young people’s futures.

  • Good opportunities for Professional Development, helping you move to the next stage.

  • A supportive working environment, characterised by variety and personal challenge.

We are renowned for placing a high value on staff wellbeing and professional development at all levels..

Situated just east of Oxford in a unique parkland site, Wheatley Park School is a flourishing 11- 18 academy with a vibrant comprehensive intake.

Education has the power to change lives, communities and society for the better. At RLT we believe that we can achieve more for our pupils, trainees, staff and communities by working together rather than alone. Schools in RLT are united by a common belief in the benefits of working together, and by our commitment to shared principles.

OUR VISION is for our schools and SCITT to improve rapidly, continuously and sustainably: to be better faster together.

OUR ‘WHY?’ is that children and young people ‘only get one go’ in school and therefore as part of RLT we aim to ensure the best possible ‘go’ for our pupils.

OUR ‘HOW?’ is through the highest support and challenge for our schools and each other, underpinned by our principles.

Our employees benefit from a wide variety of support including extensive  continuing professional learning and development opportunities, wellbeing and staff networks and access to Defined Benefit Pension Schemes (TPS and LGPS) for all staff. For more information on what it is like to work for the Trust, and the benefits you could access, please see our “Working in RLT” guide.

This role includes regulated activity relevant to children.
