Teacher of Science

Starting September 2023

Do you believe in adding value to every single student? Do you want to work in a school where every student is challenged to achieve their personal best? Do our three core values of inclusive, individual and inspirational resonate with you?

If this sounds like you and you like sweet treats in the staff room, the idea of dogs around site and a calendar of staff socials then, please, read on.

Shiplake College is seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of Science with the ability to contribute to the teaching of all three sciences (teaching up to A level in your specialist subject). This is a superb opportunity for a suitably qualified practitioner to join an innovative and successful department. The role would suit an energetic teacher committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning; a teacher who can inspire and challenge all our pupils.

Applications are welcomed from teachers who will strive for excellence in all aspects of their practice, from both experienced practitioners and early career teachers. Applicants should also be able to instil a passion for their subject and create a rigorous environment for our pupils’ learning to thrive.

Shiplake College is an independent boarding and day school for boys aged 11 to 18 and girls aged 16 to 18, with girls joining Year 7 from September 2023 to go fully co-educational. Situated in 45 acres of beautiful countryside near Henley-on-Thames, we offer an outstanding education based on small class sizes, excellent facilities and dedicated teaching staff. All teaching staff are expected to contribute to the busy programme of co-curricular activities on offer.

We offer a competitive salary, excellent free lunches, and a contributory pension scheme together with access to our gym and sporting facilities and a beautiful working environment.

Early applications are welcomed, as the College reserves the right to appoint at any stage during the application process.
