We require an Estates Technician/Handyperson to work within our Malvern schools. The role ensures that our school buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard for our pupils, staff and community. This is achieved through a combination of working individually and with other Estates colleagues under the supervision of the Estates Compliance Officer.
The successful candidate will need to be computer literate and be proactive within the role, ensuring work is completed effectively. They will use good DIY/ Handyman skills to complete tasks and sensibly identify works requiring external expertise or MET colleagues to assist. The role can be subject to additional out of hours work, for example to attend alarm calls, therefore close proximity to Malvern is required. Appropriate equipment, clothing and footwear to safely conduct this role will be provided.
30 hours per week on a variable all year contract (+/- 25%).
Hours of work could include 1 hour per day opening of a school site. The remaining hours are designated for H&S checks and maintenance and will be flexible (on agreement) to suit tasks and colleagues. A telephone rota is in place for emergency call outs and shared with Estates staff approximately one week per month. The salary for this post is Grade 4.
