It is a seven form of entry school with over 1400 pupils. The school is significantly oversubscribed and has recently added an additional form of entry. The sixth form is also a highly successful and popular part of the school. The school has exceptional facilities and a distinctive ethos of providing outstanding academic teaching alongside a range of exceptional opportunities for all pupils.

OFSTED awarded the school an outstanding grade in every category in our most recent inspection, commenting that “students thrive within its distinctive ethos, enabling them to succeed academically and to develop into confident, well-rounded individuals who are prepared extremely well for their future lives.”

The School is the lead school in the Thames Gateway Teaching School Hub and is a National Support School.
