Hemyock Primary School is a very special place to work, in a beautiful rural location but still with easy access from the M5. The school enjoys extensive grounds, providing a forest school area, sports grounds, a bird hide, pond and gardening patches. Our dedicated team of staff and governors work together to create a school where there is a real sense of community and where teachers and learners can flourish.

Our aims are straightforward. We strive to develop the intellectual, spiritual, moral, social and cultural needs of each child through inspirational teaching. We value the positive and sustained support of the parents to achieve this. We can promise you a wonderful team of staff and highly supportive families. Our children are a delight to work with and their behaviour is outstanding. We have strong links through our multi-academy trust, Ventrus Ltd, and we enjoy being able to share expertise as well as offer school to school professional development.

We are looking to open a new After School Club following an assessment of the needs of our parental body. As such, we are seeking two fixed term After School Club workers to join us to provide wraparound care for our children; we are appointing this role on a Fixed Term basis with a view to making it permanent if the Club proves successful. As this is a new club, this is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the creation of an important community minded venture.

You should have:

  • Relevant experience of working with primary age children
  • The ability to create positive experiences for children attending our After School Club
  • Excellent communication skills leading to effective relationships with pupils, parents and staff
  • A commitment to inclusion
  • A personal philosophy which supports the ethos and values of the school
  • A growth mind-set.

We can offer you:

  • Motivated and enthusiastic pupils
  • Opportunities to develop your skills within school and within our Multi Academy Trust
  • In school and Trust-wide support and CPD opportunities
  •  Supportive and committed colleagues

These are part-time, fixed term positions working 11.25 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 3:30pm – 5:45pm), 39 weeks per year.
