We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated IT, Support Technician, to join our current IT team. We are an independent long-established day school for boys and girls aged 3-18 in Oldham where pupils, staff, parents, and visitors alike regard our family atmosphere as a defining feature.  This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is incredibly passionate about developing our use of new, emerging technologies to enhance the experience of our students, supporting pupils, teachers, and support staff on a daily basis.  If you are interested in this exciting new role within a growing business then please apply today

 Candidate Skills:

  1. 2 years experience using and managing Google Workspace and Chrome OS
  2. Google Education experience in an education setting would be advantageous
  3. Chromebook device management
  4. A basic understanding of Networking and Active Directory is required
  5. Ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions to problems
  6. Excellent communications skills are required to allow the candidate to work closely with a wide range of students and teachers
  7. The ideal candidate will have a real passion for technology as an enabler and its integration
  8. Great listening skills are essential in this role
  9. Looking for someone who is dedicated and motivated to help develop the IT function

 Day to day responsibilities:

  1. Supporting students on a daily basis with Google Chrome books and associated technologies
  2. Work closely with the teachers and support staff to identify and support all IT issues
  3. Oversee the end-to-end new user set up for all IT systems (staff and pupils)
  4. Mapping out future technologies to enhance and utilize the technology to the maximum potential
  5. Working closely with our Deputy Principal Academic/IT Manager on the development, implementation, and support of our digital learning strategy
  6. Day to day administration and support on all applications
  7. Providing AV support to departments including projectors, Smart TVs, visualizers, and support with Assemblies
  8. Ensuring all installed software is correctly licensed and installed in line with the School’s policy on change management and appropriate child protection and online safety requirements
  9. Providing training to staff and students on Google applications and other systems
  10. Some support required for Microsoft technologies for administration staff
  11. Working alongside a team of 3
