About WSAPC
West Sussex Alternative Provision College (WSAPC) is an educational establishment based across the county on Seven separate sites. We provide education to young people who are not accessing mainstream education. We aim to provide a caring and positive environment where all are valued and supported through a personalised curriculum which challenges and inspires individuals to achieve their potential.

The College is rated as Good following a recent Ofsted visit in March 2018 and our focus now, is to move from Good to Outstanding. Chalkhill Educational Centre is rated as an Outstanding “hospital school” based at Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath that provides education for day and residential students with mental health needs.
Chalkhill Education Centre is based in Haywards Heath and provides education for up to 21 young people who have been admitted to Chalkhill Hospital, a regional Tier 4 and Adolescent Mental Health Provision.
What we are looking for:
We are seeking a highly motivated colleague to join the small and very committed education team.
Candidates invited for interview will be highly skilled individuals with experience of working in a school setting with challenging behaviours. It is very important that you are able to work well as part of a team and on your own. The ability to remain calm and level headed yet think on your feet is essential. In addition, you should ideally have had previous successful experience of working with pupils to help them improve their social skills, resilience and emotional wellbeing over time.
We welcome applications from candidates who can effectively demonstrate how their skills and experience can meet the requirements of the job specification.
All successful candidates will:

• Be excellent practitioners with high expectations of all pupils
• Be passionate about child-centred learning
• Have excellent organisational and communication skills and enjoy working in a team
• Preferably have experience of working in two or more key stages
• Be able to make a positive contribution to the ethos of our school
• Have a firm commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities for all

You will have:
• Maths and English GCSE or Equivalent Grade C or above
• A good standard of education across a range of subjects
• Excellent numeracy/literacy skills – equivalent to NVQ Level 2 in English & Maths
• Working knowledge of national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes
• Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice/legislation
