P.A. to Headteacher

NJC Grade 4 £27,741 - £34,728*

Full time, full year

Start date: August/September 2021

Judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2010 and with a successful Section 8 inspection in February 2020, Yardleys is a thriving, vibrant and heavily oversubscribed 11-16 multi-ethnic stand-alone academy in Birmingham, with 932 students on roll. The diversity of the school population reflects the rich, cultural mix of the local area.

The school motto “Working together for a better future” is far more than just words. The collaborative ethos which permeates the school is at the heart of our success. The high standards provided by the support staff team provide the foundation for teachers to focus on delivering outstanding teaching and learning.

Due to the promotion of the previous postholder, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team. The successful applicant will provide organisational, administrative and diary management to the Headteacher. This will include routine and more complex word processing, spreadsheets, databases and Powerpoint. The role also includes acting as Clerk to Governors so experience of minute taking is essential, as is a willingness to work flexibly including attendance at evening meetings.

You will need to be educated to at least Level 3 (A level equivalent) and will need to have experience in a similar role. Experience of working in a school is not essential, but an enthusiasm for working with young people is vital. You will need to demonstrate the highest standards of accuracy and literacy, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to work independently in a very busy environment and deal with conflicting demands on your time.

In return, you will be well supported at Yardleys where we offer a range of professional development opportunities, an excellent induction programme and a healthcare package.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
