Carleton High School is a mixed, non-denominational academy secondary school for pupils aged 11 to 16. It is located in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, and has capacity for about 1,000 pupils.
The school converted to academy status in April 2013. It was originally founded in 1963.
Carleton High School is an 11-16 school with a planned admission number of 210 pupils in each year group. The school ethos is based on a mantra of ‘Culture + Consistency = Excellence'. Put simply this means the school has a culture of high aspirations for all, where standards are high and simple highly effective strategies are implemented consistently daily. This mantra creates an environment where teachers can really focus on their teaching and students on their learning. The school aims to provide a high-quality experience in a disciplined environment where behaviour is managed consistently - students understand our high expectations and how to meet them.
