We are looking to appoint a Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a mainstream reception class supporting a child who has a primary need of Global Developmental Delay.   The successful candidate will have experience of supporting children who need support with

·         Expressive communication skills; sharing thoughts and feelings and saying what she wants

·         Receptive language skills; difficulty understanding the expectations of others outside the context of routines

·         Concentration and attention

·         developing play skills

·         retaining information

·         regulating emotions

·         Fine and gross motor skills and core strength

·         Toileting

·         Self-care and independence skills

The hours for this post are 26.25 hours, (Mon-Fri), term time only. 

The person appointed will require a good standard of general education, normally evidenced by 3 or more GCSEs (including Maths and English) at Grade C or above, or other equivalents.  Previous experience of working with children in a primary educational setting is required and some vocational training/qualification in the care, development or education of children would be desirable.
