Faringdon Community College (FCC) is a successful and well-established 11-18 co-educational secondary comprehensive school, which embraces the idea of lifelong learning and community education. The school has an excellent local reputation and is known for inspiring exciting teaching and learning where teachers are supported and encouraged to help every student to achieve individual success and realise their potential.

As a dynamic organisation, we are always looking for new ideas and ways forward. The strong and motivated team of teaching and non-teaching staff are committed to providing the best education they can and have an energy and enthusiasm which makes FCC a rewarding place to work.

Faringdon Community College is part of the Faringdon Academy of Schools, an eight school multi-academy trust, which was established on 1st April 2012.

We are looking to appoint two Assistant Headteachers to join our experienced leadership team and play a key role in helping the school achieve its aims. The roles would be suitable for either existing Assistant Headteachers looking to broaden their experience or for middle managers looking to make the next step in their careers.

These vacancies arise as a result of the growth the school is currently experiencing. Including sixth form, there are 1234 pupils currently on roll and this will exceed 1300 in 2019/20.

The successful applicants for the Head of KS3 and Head of KS4 roles will be expected to:

·                     Work with the Senior Leadership Team, governing body and others to develop the school’s vision, establish and maintain a culture and ethos that promotes effective collaboration, excellence, equality and high expectations of all pupils and staff.

·                     Be the school’s strategic lead on maintaining standards at the relevant Key Stage, including the monitoring of Key Performance Indicators at KS3 and teachers’ professional assessments at KS4.

·                     Play a key role as part of the schools pastoral support system, working closely with the Year Coordinators and with the Deputy Headteacher with responsibility for Care & Guidance.

·                     Oversee the planning and delivery of Citizenship at the relevant Key Stage.

·                     Act as the lead for vulnerable students for the school and closely monitor pupil premium provision and the students’ progress.

·                     Undertake such reasonable activities as the Headteacher and Governors may, from time to time require.

If your ambition and vision match those of the college, we want to hear from you.
