The Role
We are looking for a highly adaptable, technical problem-solver, able to work with autonomy and independence to deliver IT services within one secondary academy that is part of a larger geographical cluster service across Greater Manchester.
 
Although it not a requirement, ideally you will be currently working in a school as an IT Technician/Senior Technician or similar context, in an IT support role and are looking for the next step in your career.
This is a school-based role with working out of Salford City Academy, with the expectation that you may be required to visit other schools in the local cluster as required.
 
As the Lead Technician, your role is to support the IT Service Manager in delivering, maintaining and supporting technology in academies taking the IT Service. Assisting in the management of staff within the service, including their activity, performance and development. Responsible for delivery of IT Services at Salford City Academy.
 
The Lead Technician post reports to the IT Service Manager who is based out of Salford City
Academy. You will have line manager responsibilities for an apprentice at the academy. You will be working within a team delivering IT services to a geographical cluster of 5 schools with an expectation of more joining in the near future. Opportunities to gain wider technical knowledge and experience across the cluster is expected and beneficial to all.
