Education Worker for the Next Step Programme

The Next Step Programme supports children and young people with Educational Health Care Plans, who find education difficult to access and who have complicated personal lives.

We are looking for staff with exceptional personal qualities and experience of working with very troubled young people to join our Next Step Team.  The fundamental aim of the team is to provide therapeutic, educational provision to children and young people in Oxfordshire, supporting them until they are able to benefit from other forms of provision.

The job will involve educating young people and supporting them in making the next steps in their lives positive ones.  Important elements of the work will include delivering and setting up educational programmes and ensuring that their needs are addressed by a holistic programme.  A key aspect of this role is to link with the other agencies involved with the young person.

This is for someone who has a proven track record in connecting with the hard to engage, being able to work flexibly, autonomously and being a supportive team player.

The position is based on a Term Time Only basis and offered as a temporary position for 1 year in the first instance.

Meadowbrook College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.  All Staff and volunteers are also expected to promote fundamental British values.  This post involves the type of work with children and young people which requires applicants to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.  The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post.  All cases are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed.

More information is available from Caroline Duncan on 01865 253198.

Application forms, which are available on our website, should be completed and sent by the closing date of 12.00 noon on Thursday 1st November 2018 to: hhead@meadowbrookcollege.org

Please note that our recruitment and safeguarding procedures do not allow applicants to submit CVs, all applicants should apply by using our Application Forms.

Interviews will be held on Friday 9th November 2018.
