The Trust is led by some of Birmingham's leading educational and business leaders. The Trust works with high profile partners, Birmingham City Football Club, the Tennis Foundation and The Rep.

Rockwood Academy is an 11-16 co-educational Academy with a Headteacher, Ms Sofia Darr. The Headteacher and Senior Leadership team are seeking inspirational, professional and dynamic teachers to build upon our strengths and take the Academy forward on the next stage of our journey.

Rockwood Academy is a popular school at the heart of the local community. Our last Ofsted inspection (March 2016) rated the academy as 'Good' in every category including pupil outcomes; quality of teaching, learning and assessment, behaviour and welfare and effectiveness of leadership and management. This is a tremendous achievement considering even nationally very few schools go straight from 'Special Measures' to 'Good'. This is a pivotal stage in the development of the Academy and a wealth of opportunities exist for ambitious and committed teachers.

We are extremely proud of our summer results in 2017 which placed us in the top 2% of schools nationally for progress. We are also above national in all other performance measures.

We aim to provide an inclusive and diverse learning environment for our students and to help us achieve this we are currently looking to recruit a Cover Supervisor.  If you are a talented professional with passion, commitment and resilience, and if you are driven to make a difference to the lives and futures of young people, we would like to hear from you.

Main Tasks:

Supervise whole classes during the short term absence of the class teacher under the guidance of teaching/senior staff

Manage pupil behaviours and assisting pupils in relevant activities in line with the academy’s policies and procedures

Support subject areas with general administrative tasks

The Academy is sponsored by the Core Education Trust and is built on its values of Collaboration, Opportunity, Respect and Excellence. The Trust provides outstanding support, and is committed to transforming learning and aspirations for all of our young people.

For an informal discussion please contact:  Ms Denise Foster

The successful candidate will need to undertake a DBS Enhanced Disclosure.

Please note we do not accept CV’s.

CORE Education Trust is an equal opportunities employer.
