 Salary: PO1 (SCP 34-37)

Hours: 24 hours per week

Contract: Term time only plus 10 Days

The Board of Directors (Trustees) for the Diocese of Worcester Multi-Academy Trust (DoWMAT) are seeking to appoint an outstanding, experienced and  highly motivated Finance Manager for this exciting new role.

DoWMAT was established in September 2016 and serves a growing number of academies (currently 12) within the Diocese of Worcester, which encompasses the Local Authorities of Worcester and Dudley.  All are deeply committed to implementing a collaborative approach to developing and securing excellent educational provision for all our pupils.  DoWMAT welcomes both church and non-church schools into the Trust.  DoWMAT is a young MAT with high aspirations for its stakeholders, aiming to create futures for all.  In a relatively short period, we have established strong governance and leadership structures as the foundations for future growth.

We strongly believe that this appointment will strengthen our work with our schools.  Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will be an enthusiastic quick thinker with excellent communication and organisational skills.  They will be able to work independently whilst at the same time forming effective relationships with stakeholders.  Experience in a financial role and knowledge of financial procedures is essential and a working knowledge of Multi Academy Trust business requirements are highly desirable.  Full training will be given on all local financial and administrative packages. The role will provide excellent career development for the successful candidate, allowing them to build on their specialisms but also giving the opportunity to learn new aspects of the business whilst assisting the Trust to flourish and grow as a successful Multi Academy Trust.

We can offer:

  • Opportunities for individualised CPD and other training
  • A dynamic, committed, friendly and hard-working central staff team
  • Wide ranging experience working alongside a growing number of committed First, Middle and Primary schools
  • Enrolment to the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Child Care Vouchers

The Worcester Diocese Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and preventing extremism.  In order to meet this responsibility, our schools follow a rigorous selection process to discourage and screen out unsuitable applicants.

DoWMAT requires all employees to undertake an enhanced DBS check. You are required, before appointment, to disclose any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975. Nondisclosure may lead to termination of employment. However, disclosure of a criminal background will not necessarily debar you from employment - this will depend upon the nature of the offence(s) and when they occurred.
