Are you an extremely versatile and flexible Teaching Assistant who is looking for an exciting career within primary education and looking to develop your career?  If so we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our thriving school and we’d like to hear from you.

Your afternoons will be spent providing cover in classes across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, allowing our teaching staff across the school the opportunity to support the Pupil Premium children within their class with high quality and bespoke feedback.  Whilst the teacher works with these children out of the class, you will provide consistent whole class cover which will be planned and resourced by the class teacher.

This is a really exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant.  As part of the Nexus Teaching School Alliance you will have access to high quality professional development, plus a potential pathway to our often salaried Schools Direct Teacher Training Programme if you think this is something that may be of interest to you.  Of last year’s Schools Direct cohort, all have secured teaching jobs, two of which followed this exact route from TA to Teacher at Blackhorse Primary School.

  • A qualified Teaching Assistant with experience of working in EYFS, KS1 & KS2;
  • Can motivate and engage children in all areas of learning;
  • Have high expectations for all children and can positively promote inclusion;
  • Have excellent communication skills, enjoy working as part of a team and are willing to work flexibly alongside a range of children and adults;
  • Are able to provide nurturing and caring support for all children;
  • Are fun, energetic and bursting with energy.

This is a fixed term position from 1 September 2018 until 31 August 2019 when it will be subject to Governor financial review.  Hours are 9 per week, Monday-Thursday 1:15pm - 3:30pm.
