Learning Mentor

This post is initially based within the Bridges Team, which means you will be expected to work with children of all age groups from 5-16 years old. The young people attending Bridges programmes have often had, and are overcoming challenges educationally, socially and emotionally.

We can offer you the chance to be part of a passionate and dedicated team making a real difference to young people’s lives. Additionally, we offer a range of development and training opportunities to support and advance your career.

This exciting and varied role will provide you with a wide range of experiences, including:

Supporting learning, both in and out of the classroom

     Leading a circle time

Co-planning and supporting a variety of creative activities

     Engaging in physical activities

     Key working individual students

…as well as liaising closely with parents/carers, schools and many other agencies.

We believe in a shared team ethos, working together using flexible and supportive approaches to develop students’ learning and behaviour.

Meadowbrook College is a welcoming, nurturing and stimulating environment for students and staff.  We are always looking for creative and innovative ways forward.

This role is initially offered on a temporary contract until July 2018.  It is likely that this will be extended.

Meadowbrook College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff and volunteers are also expected to promote fundamental British values.  This post involves the type of work with children and young people that require applicants to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post. All cases are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed.

If this role appeals to you and you are looking for something new and exciting, please contact us to find out more.
