“This is an outstanding school”  Ofsted 2013

Learning Mentor Vacancy

We require a part-time/full-time Learning Mentor to start in September 2019.  The post will provide opportunities to join the Learning Support Team of Bartholomew School, helping support the learning of our more vulnerable children.

The post will be permanent, up to a maximum of 32 hours per week term time only.  Remuneration will be on the Local Government Pay Spine (LGPS) at Grade 5 or 6, Points 5-13, £18,795 to £22,021 (£9.74 to £11.41 per hour) pro rata, dependent on skills and experience.

Learning Mentors help students overcome barriers to learning.  They carry a case load and offer timetabled support to a range of individuals with Special and/or Additional Needs.  The successful candidate will work with individual or small groups of students outside the classroom with a view to enhancing their literacy skills.  They will be responsible for carrying out assessments, planning individual intervention plans, designing and creating resources, and maintaining accurate progress data records.

Some experience of working in a school environment would be an advantage. We are particularly keen to recruit a Learning Mentor who is committed to providing learning opportunities for all students and who is able to work flexibly as members of our Alternative Learning Programme Support (ALPS)Team.

The successful applicant will be required to commence employment to this post on 3 September 2019.  Applicants will be subject to an enhanced CRB check.
